8,000 Plastic Bags Shared to PKL

Around 8,000 plastic bags will be distributed to street vendor (PKL) who will open stall on New Year's Eve celebration.

Jakarta Cleanliness Dept Head, Isnawa Adji disclosed, plastic bag distribution is aimed to simplify cleaning process. It is hoped the PKL could collect garbage that they leave at the location.

"We'll share 8,000 plastic bags to PKL. Thus they can collect their garbage and not pollute the surrounding area," he told, Saturday (12/31).

Tonight, as many as 6,000 janitors will be deployed to clean up garbage that left by people who will enjoy New Year. Garbage volume is predicted to reqxh 200-250 tons. They will do cleann at 1 AM.

"Jakartans do not throw garbage haphazardly, but bring plastic bag or small trash bin in the car. Our target is garbage must already clean at 6 AM.
