Penjaringan Residents Can’t Wait for Row Village Realization

The row village program initiated by Jakarta Governor Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo is now highly demanded by the residents, particularly those who live in Penjaringan Urban Village, Penjaringan Sub-District, North Jakarta, who cannot wait for Jakarta Provincial Government to realize the program in their area. The residents there have signed up to join in the program since April.

Head of Penjaringan Row Village, Suranta, said the data of Penjaringan residents who have agreed to join in row village program has existed since the consultant team of Jakarta Public Housing and Government’s Buildings Department conducted survey in the area.

Based on the data, there are 489 families (KK) living in three RWs in Penjaringan have been recorded. They consist of 145 families in RW 01, 116 families in RW 07, and 228 families in RW 08.
Chief of RW 07, Achmadi, admitted about his residents’ wish to get the row village program accelerated. According to him, residents’ expectation for row village construction is very high. This is seen from many residents signed up to join in the program.
“There is always resident signed up every day to join in row village program,” he told.
Meanwhile, North Jakarta Public Housing and Government’s Building Department Head, Ali Patta, uttered that row village program was less enthused by the residents. But now, the response received is very positive. However, not every resident who has signed up is accepted, because there are requirements set by the government that must be met.
“Not everyone gets it. The amount of residents wanting to join the row village program is very high, but there are requirements to meet,” he stated.
