Transjakarta to Add 2,000 New Buses This Year

PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) is going to add new 2,000 buses this year. By doing so, the city would totally have 3,300 units by the end of this year.

We continue to add more buses. This year, our fleet will be 3,300 units and is targeted to be realized by the end of this year

PT Transjakarta Director, Budi Kaliwono disclosed that the existing bus is reaching 1,300 units, starting from articulated bus, single bus and medium-sized bus. Additional bus will gradually be conducted in the upcoming March. 

"We continue to add more buses. This year, our fleet will be 3,300 units and is targeted to be realized by the end of this year," he stated, at City Hall, Thursday (1/5). 

Transjakarta Will Operate Until 2 AM During New Year

He went on the say that fund for bus purchase is Rp 750 billion, that allocated since 2016 and 2017. "This is all procurement," he stated.

But the fund is deemed lacking, neverthelss his side already has additional capital through bank loans.

"We plan to cooperate with bank or financing company thus its procurement will be on time," he expressed.

As the initial stage, as many as 300 buses type low entry will arrive in March. The bus has been used by various countries, especially to accommodate people with disabilities. "We will bring 300 units in March," he finished.
