June 3, One-Way System in Pluit Karang Imposed

Jakarta Transportation Department will impose one-way system in Pluit area, especially in Muara Angke junction, North Jakarta, on Tuesday (6/3). The policy is aimed to parse traffic congestion and vehicle volume in such area.

That's why we decided to impose the one-way system on June 3

Muara Angke area is prone to congestion, because there is a complex road structure, such as Jalan Pluit Karang Barat with four lanes, Muara Angke Port with 2 lanes, Jalan Pluit Karang Ayu with two lanes heading to Jalan Karang Utara with two lanes.

Next Week, One-Way System on Jalan Sunan Giri Imposed

"That's why we decided to impose the one-way system on June 3," stated Head of Jakarta Transportation Department, Akbar, Friday (5/30).

The traffic flow of Jalan Pluit Karang Utara and Muara Angke junction with Jalan Pluit Karang Cantik junction with two lanes have been changed into one-way system toward Pluit Utara and Pluit Dam or west to east side. The one-way system is also imposed on Jalan Pluit Karang Cantik or north to south side.

Through one-way system, traffic of Jalan Pluit Karang Utara towards Muara Angke Port and Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) area will be diverted. At least there are three alternatives roads that have been prepared, as follow:

1) Jalan Pluit Karang Utara-Jalan Pluit Karang Cantik-Jalan Pluit Karang-Jalan Pluit Karang Barat-Muara Angke junction, etc.

2) Jalan Pluit Karang Utara-Jalan Pluit Karang Cantik-Jalan Pluit Karang-Jalan Pluit Karang Barat-Jala Mandara Permai-PIK area, etc

3) Jl Pluit Karang Utara-turn around-Jalan Pluit Karang Ayu-Jalan Pluit Karang Ayu Barat-Muara Angke junction, etc

His sub-department has also installed traffic signs as motorists instructions. "People are urged to obey traffic signs and comply with the officer directions in the field," he said.
