City Targets 95 Percent of Food Product Free from Hazardous Substances

City Food Security, Marine, and Agriculture (KPKP) Dept. targeted 95 percent of agriculture, poultry, and marine product which distributed in City are safe from hazardous substances.

Inspector will use mobile laboratory car that will go to market location to do on the spot food testing that used to be sold to citizen

City KPKP Dept. Head, Darjamuni said that his side will focus on observing modern and traditional market, coaching location (lokbin), and central food product distributor which divided in five regions.

Lenggang Jakarta Culinary Food Free from Hazardous Substances

He added that food product observation is one of key performance indicator (KPI) from City KPKP Dept. in 2017. For that, his side will go to the field to take some food sample which routinely distributed to 154 locations.

"For about 62 agricultural, poultry, and marine food samples in every market location will be tested on the spot (fast tested) with rapid test kit," he said.

He explained that his side will involve PD. Pasar Jaya and another related stakeholders from provincial to city level to do observation.

"Inspector will use mobile laboratory car that will go to market location to do on the spot food testing that used to be sold to citizen," he expressed.

If on the spot result were found any sample product that positive of hazardous substances, his side will investigate it further.

"Market traders who were exposed selling harmful foods, we will cooperate with PD. Pasar Jaya to give decisive sanction in accordance with applicable regulations," he closed.
