BUMD Role Need to Be Optimalized for Stabilizing Chili Price

City Council (DPRD) asked to optimize BUMD role for stabilizing chili price. Until now, red cayenne pepper price is Rp 140 thousand per kilo which is quite high.

City Council Commission B Member, Prabowo Soenirman said that city has three agricultural fields of BUMD. The activity function must be optimized to overcome the problem of current high chili price.

"City has BUMD in agricultural sectors, it is supposed to be utilized to lower current chili price," said Prabowo, Wednesday (2/1).

Those three BUMD are PD Dharma Jaya, PD Pasar Jaya, and PT Food Station Tjipinang Raya. According to Prabowo, they do not have to visit supplier region to find some chili supply because the high price is caused by chili supplies to the City which lowered. 

"They must take some steps, such as visiting supplier to get some another supplies. For now, it's already been done, but not running well," he closed.

As to know, red cayenne pepper price recently is still in Rp 140 thousand per kilo. The high price is caused by supply to City was drastically reduced. Cayenne daily needs reaching 120 ton, while there are only 50-60 ton in stock.
