Floods at Five Points in Central Jakarta Handled

A rapid reaction to handle flood is conducted by Central Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-dept. When getting flood report, they immediately go to suck up floods in the five-point roads.

Operation Section Head of Central Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-dept. Head, Muchtar Zakharia disclosed, fire truck have been dispatched to suck up floods. It aims to smoothen traffic flow in the field.

"We've been sucking up floods at five points," he stated, Tuesday (2/21).

According to him, a number of points being sucked up are Jl. Ahmad Yani, in front of RSAL Mintohardjo Benhil, Jl. Kartini Raya, Jl. Bungur and Jl. Suprapto. The water level in the location reached 50 cm.

"The worst condition is seen on Jl. Landasan Pacu, precisely at Ghandi Underpass. So far the water level has touched 7 meters and then continued with road closure," he expressed.

His side has yet to conduct suctioning, because the vehicles are still seen passing such roads.

"It's mostly due to pump in underpass that is incomparable with the incoming water," he disclosed.
