Trash Volume in West Jakarta Reduced

Trash volume in West Jakarta during last period of June to December, 2016, was noted 1,300 tons per day. This number is lessen than the same period in 2015 which reached 1,500 ton on each day.

Since June 2016, transported trash volume was reduced

"Since June 2016, transported trash volume was reduced. From 4 tons for 1 truck per day in 2015 became 2 tons for 1 truck per day," said West Jakarta Environment Sub-dept. Head, Edy Mulyanto, Monday (2/27).

Meanwhile in the early of 2017, trash volume that produced everyday is estimated will be 15 percent lower compared to June-December, 2016, even the number is around 1,300 tons.

Seribu Islands Targeted to Provide 23 Trash Banks

According to him, this trash volume reduction is caused by trash banks that started to develop in several RWs.

"Even not all RW apply it yet, but trash bank effect is significant enough to reduce trash volume. If all RW already applying trash banks, we sure trash volume will be much reduced," he closed.
