Breakwater Renovation in Panggang Island Reaches 87 Percent

Breakwater levee renovation in the north side of Panggang Island, North Seribu Islands Sub-district, Seribu Islands, has reached 87 percent.

From those two spots is remain around 40 meters in total. Renovation progress just hampered by weather

The renovated levees are located in two spots, each of them have 100 meters and 200 meters long. It was hit by big waves last week. 

Breakwater on North Side of Panggang Island Broken

Seribu Island Water Resources (SDA) Sub-dept. Head, Mustajab, said breakwater renovation in Panggang Island was targeted to be finished next week.

"From those two spots is remain around 40 meters in total. Renovation progress just hampered by weather," he said, Saturday (3/4).

He added the renovation also ncluding cube strap replacement. Previously, it used crossed wire, but now will use nylon strap which is rust resistant and stronger.

Besides, disarranged bronjong (rocks wrapped in plaited wires) caused by waves is also repaired.
