28,800 Spots of Potholes in Jakarta Repaired

This year, we have more than Rp 400 billion for road maintenance

Along January-February 2017, Jakarta Bina Marga Dept. has repaired 28,800 spots of potholes in five cities. The repair itself is carried out by taskforce (satgas) teams from sub-district, city and province.

"We temporarily handle potholes using cold mix method. In overall, there have been 28,000 spots repaired," expressed Suko Wibowo, Section Head of Maintenance for Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-dept., Monday (3/6).

40 Points of Potholes in Warakas Improved

Suko explained, every day, the team is assigned to check and repair potholes. 

"In sub-dept. and dept. have two teams. Each of them consist of six personnel," he continued.

In a day, they are able to handle 5-20 spots. Commonly it is executed in evening to prevent traffic jam.

"This year, we have more than Rp 400 billion for road maintenance," he expressed.

He mentions a number of potholes repaired from five cities are Jalan Yos Sudarso and access road of Marunda (North Jakarta), Jalan Pemuda and I Gusti Ngurah Rai (East Jakarta), Jalan Pasar Minggu and Rasuna Said (South Jakarta), Jalan S Parman and Jembatan Dua (West Jakarta), Jalan Salemba Raya and Kramat Raya (Central Jakarta).

"Meanwhile, we're still doing temporary handling for potholes. If rainy season ends, potholes repair will be continued permanently," he told.

This condition is mostly triggered by the passing heavy truck, inundation, and cable excavation.

"Every day, we're sending satgas equipped with hoe, blencong, baby roller, jack hammer plus operational vehicles to repair the potholes," he uttered.
