If any, it is less than five percent,” stated Head of Food Security Sub-Division for Jakarta Economic Bureau, Marlina Widya Dewi, at City Hall, Wednesday (6/4).Based on Jakarta Economic Bureau data in Cipinang Wholesale Rice Market (PBIC) dated June 4, rice stock reaches 21,450 tons with daily needs about 500 tons. That means the existing rice stock is sufficient for the next 12-13 days.

Here are the data of staple food stocks in Jakarta:

- Chicken meat: 197,000 tons, with daily needs about 560 tons;
- Beef meat: from distributors reaches 50,000 tons, with daily needs about 120 tons. At PD Pasar Jaya there are 954 cows and 12,826 kilograms of meat in accordance with last week’s data;
- Cooking oil: 45,250 tons with daily needs about 380 tons;
- Egg: 225,000 tons, with daily needs about 1,115 tons.
According to Dewi, her party keeps monitoring staple foods price once every three days in 11 markets. From the last observation, there is no significant price hike. The price of IR3 rice, for instance, increases by 0.55 percent from Rp 8,937 to Rp 9,034.
Price hike also happens to chicken egg which reaches 4.66 percent from Rp 18,104 to Rp 18,948, and chicken meat 0.95 percent from Rp 29,793 to Rp 30,075.
However, the price of some commodities is decreasing. Such as cooking oil which decreases for 0.82 percent from Rp 12,269 to Rp 12,169, red chili from Rp 23,857 to Rp 21,630, and cayenne pepper from Rp 19,354 to Rp 18,162. As for pure meat, its price is stable in Rp 94,792.
