Setu Reservoir Proposed to Be Tourism Site

East Jakarta Administration Government will promote Setu Reservoir area, Cipayung, to be tourism site with Betawi nuance, such as Babakan Reservoir in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta.

We will prioritize to manage reservoir to be tourism site. There are entertainment stage, culinary, children playground, and fishing arena

According to East Jakarta Mayor, Bambang Musyawardhana, Setu Reservoir area is suitable to be a tourism site because its location is leafy and close to residential area. Later on, entertainment stage, culinary center, and children playground will be built there.

"We will prioritize to manage reservoir to be tourism site. There are entertainment stage, culinary, children playground, and fishing arena," he said on Thursday (3/9).

As the initial step, his side will propose this thing to provincial level thus can be realized soon.

 

Cipayung Sub-district Head, Iin Mutmainah, stated to a tourism site surely will increase surrounding residents' economy. Residents can open business such as culinary, accessories, and another handicrafts.

"Cipayung have many potential land that can be made as tourism site. One of them is Setu Reservoir. We promote it to be tourism site," she stated.

This reservoir that have four hectares wide, is recently only used by residents for fishing and simple recreation without entertainment. She admitted has already asked related unit to check water content levels and reservoir depth thus can be placed with fish fingerlings and worth to be water playground.
