Chili planting programmed by Jakarta Provincial Government, which aims to cope with the rising price, is getting support from City Council (DPRD). They also want the program to be expanded.

"Chili price in the market is still at Rp 130,000. Seeing this, we hope the city to plant chili independently," disclosed Ida Mahdumdah, Member of City DPRD Commission B, Wednesday (3/16).
Strategic Way Prepared to Suppress Chili PricesShe added the city's empty lands could be utilized for planting chili such as in Ciangir. Another land that can be proposed is a 5-hectare width land in East Jakarta.
"The land is full of rice now, why it is not replaced with chili to add more stocks in Jakarta," she exclaimed.
As known, Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Dept. has programmed chili planting on a land in Ciangir, Tangerang. The land managed by 20 farmers has a width of 2.5 hectares.
