1,835 Personnel Early Detected TB Disease

Jakarta Health Dept. deployed 1,835 personnel to explore and collect data of citizen who have Tuberculosis (TB) disease. There are 834 health personnel and 883 personnel of Ketuk Pintu Layani dengan hati service (Knock on doors, serve with heart (KPLDH)) in 44 sub-districts with addition of 118 personnel from health organization.

Until March 21, there were 56,390 houses that have been visited and 166,041 citizens already have done early detection

Jakarta Health Dept. Disease Control and Prevention Division Head, Widyastuti said the exploration uses pro-active methods which directly visits citizen houses from March 1-23, 2017.

"Until March 21, there were 56,390 houses that have been visited and 166,041 citizens already have done early detection. As result, 434 citizens were known TB positive," she said, Thursday (3/23).

Early Detection of Disease Held in Panggang Island

According to her, for citizen who positive TB will have an education and treatment in accordance with World Health Organization (WHO) standards. If any patients was found to be resistant to given medicine, will be referred to Persahabatan Hospital to receive further treatment.

She added that patient's family or health personnel will be assigned as medication taking supervisor to ensure patients consume medicine routinely.

"We will always monitor and synchronize with Puskesmas KPLDH team activities," she closed.
