Rice Stock in Jakarta is Safe Until Lebaran

Jakarta Provincial Government ensures rice stock for Lebaran needs is still safe.

Rice stock is still sufficient for 4.5 months ahead

Acting Jakarta Governor, Sumarsono said rice demand in Jakarta is about 2,500-3,000 tons per day. It is predicted, towards Lebaran, rice demand will be increased around 2,750-3,300 tons per day.

According to him, rice stock in Cipinang Rice Central Market is still 34 thousand tons and in Bulog around 42 thousand tons.

Rice Stock in Jakarta is Safe

"Rice stock is still sufficient for 4.5 months ahead," he said when monitoring PT. Food Station Tjipinang Jaya and Cipinang Rice Central Market, East Jakarta, Tuesday (4/4).

He added prices of basic needs such as sugar, meat, chili, and cooking oil relatively stable. Moreover, deflation rate recently is just 0.34 percent.

"I asked markets to be equipped by price board thus citizen know faster commodity prices that want to be bought," he explained.

Meanwhile, PT. Food Station Tjipinang Jaya President Director, Arief Prasetyo Adi said his side will prepare additional stock around 25,000 to 30,000 tons of rice to anticipate Ramadhan and Lebaran needs.
