Dozens of Buildings in Pejagalan Burned

Fire gutted dozens of buildings on Jalan Moa, RT 06/12, Pejagalan Urban Village, Penjaringan Sub-District, Saturday (6/7), Saturday (6/7). The flames destroyed one house, three small home industry buildings, and dozens of illegal buildings.

Head of North Jakarta Fire and Disaster Handling Sub-Department, Muchtar Zakaria, said his party received report about the fire at around 4 PM. “The fire happened for nearly an hour,” he told.

Zakaria admitted that the firemen have had difficulties to cooling down the fire location due to there were many remains of furniture burned. “We managed to extinguish the fire about one hour,” he uttered.

3 Houses in Matraman Gutted in Fire

To extinguish the fire, 29 fire trucks were deployed to the scene. “Temporary allegation, the fire was coming from a stove belonged to one of the residents. A resident is known to suffer burns, but the identity is still unknown,” he stated.
