Fire Case in West Jakarta Remains the Highest

Fire accident still becomes a frightening threat for Jakarta citizens. It is proved that as many as 280 fire cases have happened in the city from January to April this year. From that amount, 84 cases happened in West Jakarta, which is the highest among other municipalities.

Those 280 fire cases have caused loss as much as Rp 51.66 billion and four casualties. The main cause of fire is electricity short circuit which reached 209 cases

Because of the high fire cases, socialization about fire prevention keeps being conducted by Jakarta Fire and Disaster Handling Department. Cooperating with private authorities, fire department held socialization in RW 04 and 05, Krendang Urban Village, Tambora Sub-District, West Jakarta.

β€œThose 280 fire cases have caused loss as much as Rp 51.66 billion and four casualties. The main cause of fire is electricity short circuit which reached 209 cases,” stated Head of Jakarta Fire and Disaster Handling Department, Subejo, Sunday (5/25).

In that occasion, fire department donated light fire extinguishers (apar) and fire blankets to 25 RTs in RW 04 and 05 Tambora. West Jakarta Deputy Mayor, M Yuliadi, welcomed this fire prevention socialization positively.

β€œThe residents would be more responsive and ready if fire happened,” he said.

Following West Jakarta, municipalities with most fire cases happened are East Jakarta 66 cases, South Jakarta 51 cases, North Jakarta 42 cases, and Central Jakarta 35 cases.
