BPBD Monitors Floodgates Condition

Heavy rain poured City on Tuesday (4/11) night made water level in several floodgates increased. One of them was Karet floodgate that recently in Alert level 3 with water height 480 centimeters.

At 6 A.M. Karet floodgate was in alert level 3

Jakarta Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Head, Husen Murad said, this morning, Karet Floodgate was at alert level 3. Meanwhile, other floodgates were in safe condition or alert level 4.

"At 6 A.M. Karet floodgate was in alert level 3. But, other floodgates condition were normal," he said, Wednesday (4/12).

He explained that before 5 A.M., Pasar Ikan floodgate condition was also in alert level 3 with height 170 centimeters. But the water height already decreased into 165 centimeters.

"We will keep monitoring floodgates and inform it to citizen," he expressed.

He added for regions that will be affected by rising water level in Karet floodgate are Karet Tengsin, Pejompongan, and Bendungan Hilir.

According to newest data, another water gates which still in alert level 4 are Manggarai, Angke Hulu, Bendung Katulampa, Depok, Krukut Hulu, Pesanggrahan, Pluit Reservoir, Pasar Ikan, Cipinang Hulu, Pulo Gadung, and Sunter Hulu Floodgates.
