Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat, reminded officers in government areas, from urban village, sub-district, mayor, to Water Resources Dept. Head to stay responsive to overcome flood due to the ongoing rain.

"Please control water channels to minimize the inundation," he said, Sunday (4/23).
He added, Water Resources Dept. must prepare mobile water pumps to reduce inundation due to high rainfall. Those pumps can be used to siphon water which inundated several basin areas.
"There are several locations where the inundation are slowly receding, but no longer than one day. Mobile pumps will be functioned in those areas," he added.
Furthermore, he also asked Water Resources Dept. to improve heavy equipment's operation in Jakarta's reservoirs.
He explained that reservoir become one of the place to drain the water when flood happens in Jakarta. Thus, heavy equipment can be functioned to dredge the mud sedimentation and also maximize reservoir's water capacity.
