ASEAN Delegation Members Visit Pulogundul RPTRA

26 representatives from 10 countries incorporated in Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Tuesday (4/15), visiting the Pulogundul RPTRA, Johar Baru, Central Jakarta. They come to study the existence of libraries in the middle of the residential.

It is to strengthen cooperation between ASEAN members in library sector

Section Deputy of Library Resource Development, Indonesian National Library (Perpusnas RI), Woro Titi Haryanti disclosed the delegation visit is part of the ASEAN International Network Emerging Library Innovators (INELI) program.

"It is to strengthen cooperation between ASEAN members in library sector," he stated, Tuesday (4/25).

Besides visiting some libraries, the agenda that runs for three days will also be filled with workshop. It is hoped those could get input in developing library in their countries.

"Delegation from Cambodia asked how to encourage visitors to come. While from Philippines, they asked about the impact of RPTRA on the people," he uttered.

To delegations, Empowerment of Child Protection and Population Control Sub-dept. Head, Erma Suryano explains about the aim and function of RPTRA.

Until now, there have been 184 RPTRAs developed in five cities and one regency in the capital.

"Not only as a space of interaction, its existence is also an educational medium for the public. Evidently, when it is founded, brawl case in Johar Baru has decreased," he concluded.
