Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat, asked honorary teacher in Jakarta to increase their competence continuously thus can be appointed as civil servant (PNS).

"Honorary teacher must be a trigger to compete improving the quality and competence," he said at Lapangan IRTI Monas, Gambir, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (5/2).

He expressed that each year, many retired PNS teachers in Jakarta. That chance can be an opportunity for honorary teacher thus can be appointed as PNS. In this condition, they must pass the test and qualify.

"Every year, there must be retired PNS. Qualified honorary teachers could fill that positions," he added.

Jakarta Education Dept. Head, Sopan Adrianto stated, for about 11 thousand of honorary teacher in Jakarta will be appointed as PNS gradually.

"We are still waiting for central government instruction. Because it is central government's authority to determine whether become CPNS or not," he closed.
