Jakarta Provincial Government is still arranging the merger of the two companies owned by government, PDAM and PAL Jaya, to be formed into Jakarta Water Regional Public Company (Perumda).

Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama said, while waiting for Regional Regulation Draft (Raperda) about merging these two BUMDs to be done, his side prepares its management structure.

He expressed that in big cities in the world, waste water and clean water management is combined. Through these two BUMDs merger, public service is ensured can be more optimal.
"In every countries in the world, waste water and clean water is under one management. Thus if need clean water, we will also install another pipe to get its waste water. So it is mutual benefit," he closed.
