City Council support Jakarta Provincial Government to merge Jakarta Water Company (PDAM Jaya) and Jakarta Wastewater Company (PD. PAL Jaya).

City Council Vice Chairman, Triwisaksana said the merger of two regional-owned enterprises (BUMD)s is expected to increase asset value of Jakarta Provincial Government.

He expressed that to understand the purpose behind this merge, his side will invite those two BUMDs' directors to discuss about it more.

"Yesterday it has been approved, next the commission will follow up by inviting relevant parties from PDAM Jaya and PD. PAL Jaya for deepening," he added.

For information, Jakarta Provincial Government proposed Regional Regulation Draft (Raperda) about Jakarta Water Area Public Company. This raperda regulates the merge two BUMDs which is between PDAM Jaya and PD. PAL Jaya.

"I suppose it has been the trend to merge between the same business companies. Because it can leverage the assets, so return on investment or return on asset value will be higher," he closed.
