44 Fire Cases Hit Central Jakarta along This Year

Central Jakarta Fire and Disaster Handling Department recorded that 44 fire cases have happened in the municipality along this year. There is no casualty in those cases, but the loss suffered is predicted reaching Rp 9.5 billion.

Head of Central Jakarta Fire and Disaster Handling Sub-Department, Rahmat Kristanto, detailed that those 44 cases consist of electricity short-circuit (34 cases), stove explosion (4 cases), cigarette butts (2 cases), others (4 cases).

Fire Case in West Jakarta Remains the Highest

Meanwhile, Head of Central Jakarta Fire and Disaster Handling Sub-District Operational Section, Sudarno, told that the majority of fire happened in densely populated areas, like Tanah Tinggi, Galur, and Kramat. To minimize fire case, the residents are urged to turn off their electrical appliances if leaving home.

“Don’t forget to turn off your electrical appliances if you’re going to travel,” he reminded.
