44 Fire Cases Hit Central Jakarta along This Year

Head of Central Jakarta Fire and Disaster Handling Sub-Department, Rahmat Kristanto, detailed that those 44 cases consist of electricity short-circuit (34 cases), stove explosion (4 cases), cigarette butts (2 cases), others (4 cases).
“The cause of fire is still dominated by electricity short-circuit, because many people installed electrical installation haphazardly and cables that have been chipped. The use of electricity exceeds the capacity and use electrical illegally can lead to fire,” he stated, Monday (6/9).
Fire Case in West Jakarta Remains the HighestMeanwhile, Head of Central Jakarta Fire and Disaster Handling Sub-District Operational Section, Sudarno, told that the majority of fire happened in densely populated areas, like Tanah Tinggi, Galur, and Kramat. To minimize fire case, the residents are urged to turn off their electrical appliances if leaving home.
“Don’t forget to turn off your electrical appliances if you’re going to travel,” he reminded.
