Car Free Day that held along Jalan Pemuda, Rawamangun, Pulogadung, East Jakarta is colored by fire handling socialization on Sunday (5/14). Besides fun exercise, residents get knowledge on fire prevention and control.

In that occasion, eight firefighters of East Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-dept. socialize to the public about the theory of fire prevention and handling.

They introduce some firefighter’s supporting facilities and infrastructure to locals. Among them are electric scissors, helmets, fire jackets, fire trucks, glass-breaking axes. 

Those also introduced rescue tools for help. The tool with a maximum capacity of 280 kilograms is equipped with a 100-meter-length.

Edi Parwoko, Section Head of Prevention for East Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-dept. said Car Free Day is very effective to socialize fire prevention and control.

"We only do socialization in theory, as there should be no during the event. So his side only introduces equipment functions and fire prevention," he expressed.

Warikin (46), one of residents said he was happy with the socialization. Even his son can also know about firefighter profession.

"Surely it's very useful for us, including our children," he closed.
