City Holds Discussion About Urban Farming

Jakarta Provincial Government cooperates with Bandung Institute of Technology's City Planning Alumnus (ARKI) and United Cities and Local Government Asia Pacific (UCLG Aspac) on Tuesday (5/23), to hold seminar and discussion about urban farming development.

We hope Jakarta people will know more about urban farming's concept and benefit

The event themed 'Urban Farming, an Element of Urban Design, as a strategy to enhance Food Security' was opened officially by Jakarta Environment and Spatial Field Deputy Governor, Oswar Muadzin Mungkasa.

He said that urban farming concept is really important to be applied in big city like Jakarta. Besides, it could help overcome food difficulties and reduce global warming impact.

Cibesel Flat Citizens Liven Up Urban Farming

"We hope Jakarta people will know more about urban farming's concept and benefit," he expressed while suggests to socialize this experiment result and urban farming research to all citizen.

Marunda Urban Resilience in Action (MURIA) representative, Chasan Ascholani explained that his side conducted research in 30 Asia Pacific countries. The research focus is on government working frame thus can be more effective in applying urban farming development.

"We always supporting local government in policy development towards urban farming and we will keep developing that research," he closed.
