City to Confiscate & Use Land Dispute for the Needs of Citizens

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama plans to confiscate land dispute before the provisions of law. The land will be used for the needs of citizens.

The entire disputed land in Jakarta, all we want to control, used for the needs of the people

"The entire disputed land in Jakarta, all we want to control, used for the needs of the people," he disclosed, when he led an executive meeting (rapim), at City Hall, Monday (8/15).

As a note, after there has been any law provision of the land, should be immediately returned. The land can be used for the needs of citizens, such as plantation, park, or street vendor (PKL) selling place.

Arifin Able to Overcome Land Dispute, Basuki Says

It can hinder land mafia. All this time, Jakarta Provincial Government could not do much with the land dispute. But in the future, it will be utilized.

"With this, we can fight land mafia. They previously sue us, whereas we have no choice. And now, when they sued us, we will utilize the land," he expressed.

He then instructed urban village head to record lands that are still in dispute. "We confiscate first for plantation, urban farming, parking lot, PKL shelter or night market, so it can be more beneficial,' he finished.
