Lack of productive land for agriculture in West Jakarta forces local administration to work harder. To solve this problem, the agricultural program or urban farming around houses is being intensified.

Head of West Jakarta Agriculture and Forestry Sub-Department, Joko Rianto, explained that urban farming program is implemented by utilizing gardens around houses through vertical planting system. In addition, the program can also be done with venticulture and aqua phonic merging.
“Urban farming is a way to anticipate lack of productive land in West Jakarta,” he stated, Monday (10/27).
Green House will Be Built in 20 Locations SoonAccording to Rianto, current urban farming method has been applied in two locations in the municipality, namely at Flamboyan Flat (Cengkareng Sub-District) and in Kebon Jeruk. Through this program, Jakartans are expected to grow vegetables or fruits safely.
