Blood Donors in East Jakarta Still Low

The awareness of East Jakarta Administration employees to donate blood is apparently still low. This is regretted because blood supply needs during the fasting month of Ramadhan is predicted to increase.

From dozens of thousands of employees, there were only less than 90 people participated in blood donor which held by East Jakarta Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) and City Administration Office (K3) on the first floor of East Jakarta Mayor office, Wednesday (6/11).
Head of People’s Welfare and Pension Division for East Jakarta K3, HM Sukar, said his party has socialized about this blood donor activity and spread 200 invitations to all regional working units (UKPD), urban village and sub-district offices, as well as local Military District Command office.

Indeed, there are not much of East Jakarta Administration employees enthusiastic in donating blood. We’re targeting 100 blood donors, but usually the maximum is only 90 donors ,” he told.According to Sukar, East Jakarta K3 will routinely hold blood donor activity in a bid to meet blood shortages.
“Many of our brothers and sisters need blood, such as for surgeries or accident victims. So, with the availability of blood, the handling can be done quickly,” he stated.
