Chili Price Considered Stable

Chili price in Jakarta is considered stable ahead and after Eid. The price stability is supported by efficient stock. Moreover, recently PD. Pasar Jaya already has Controlled Atmosphere Storage (CAS) machine that can storage and keep vegetable stays fresh.

By using CAS machine, I predicted chili prices can be controlled

Jakarta Economic Bureau Head, Sri Haryati said regional supply is not significantly affects chili price in market because of CAS machine.

"Previously, we were troubled to stock chili because of its high risk. But now we have machine storage that can keep the stock safely," she said, Wednesday (6/7).

CAS Machine Officially Operated at Kramat Jati Market

She explained, chili price in market from 2014-2016 was tend to rise ahead and one week after national great holidays. Such as red curly peppers, red cayenne peppers, and green cayenne peppers prices.

"By using CAS machine, I predicted chili prices can be controlled," she affirmed.

Early of this June, chili price in market is lower than May. It is noted in May for 1 kilogram of red curly peppers was sold for Rp 34,146. But in this early June, it decreased into Rp 32,209 per kilogram.

In the end of May, Red chili price in average was Rp 40,465. While in June, it decreased into Rp 38,548 per kilogram. Then, red cayenne pepper price was from Rp 64,239 per kilogram into Rp 64,030. Green cayenne peppers average price was from Rp 38,286 into Rp 37,385 per kilogram.
