City Targeting Overall Champion of O2SN 2014

As many as 153 city Athletes committed to achieve overall champion in National Students Sport Olympic (O2SN) 2014 which held in Jakarta. Last year, Jakarta athletes failed to achieve big three in O2SN in Kalimantan Barat. The first place was East Java with 25 golds, 17 silvers, and 17 bronzes, West Java was the second with 18 golds, 11 silvers, and 12 bronzes and Bali is the third with 14 golds, 8 silvers, and 13 bronzes.

Jakarta Head of Education Department, Lasro Marbun said that these 153 Jakarta elementary, junior, and high school student athletes targeted to achieve overall champion. Moreover the city will be the host of the event.

“Our target is to be able to achieve overall champion. We are ready to compete,” said Marbun, Saturday (6/14).

O2SN 2014 Participated by 5,101 Students Around Indonesia

Marbun added that swimming and badminton are the priority to achieve medals. "We have better athletes for swimming and badminton," he added.

He asked the athletes and teachers to be sportive and fair in every single match. The strongest opponents are East Java and West Java.

The event is participated by 8,321 Indonesian students, consisting 5,101 elementary, primary, and high school student athletes, while the rests are teachers.

The opening to be done on Monday (6/15) in Sentul International Convention Center, Bogor, West Java.

There are nine categories of competition for elementary student, seven categories for primary student, and six categories for high school students. Other categories are four competition for elementary special education and service (PKLK) and also 4 categories for primary PKLK.
