City Council Commission B assessed, the medium-sized Metromini bus that becomes Minitrans under PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) is the right breakthrough.

"The demand for transportation in Jakarta is getting higher, surely the people need security and convenience. I think this is the right breakthrough," expressed Yudistira Hermawan, Member of City Council Commission B, Thursday (7/20).

Hermawan also considers, the loan scheme given to the Metromini owners through National Syariah Banking is fairly soft. That means the Metromini owners could propose loan by Rp 562 million to rejuvenate bus with a seven-year tenor by Rp 10-11 million.

"They have to take this opportunity, as this program benefits all parties," he stated.

Another City Council Commission B Member, Prabowo Soenirman hoped, with the massive existence of this Transjakarta partner, the integrated public transportation modes in the capital could be realized. 

According to him, the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) will not be realized without the existence of feeder bus such as Minitrans.

"It's because the consideration of residents to keep using private vehicles is related to security and comfort issues," he closed.
