Jakarta Transportation Dept. has completed the initial stage of bemo (three-wheeled public transportation van) revitalization. After controlling held on June-July, 193 bemos have been successfully controlled.

Prior to controlling, the meeting has been held with the bemo owners. And they've agreed to be revitalized

According to Andri Yansyah, Head of Jakarta Transportation Dept., controlling held is in accordance with Circular Letter of Jakarta Transportation Dept. No. 84/2017 on bemo ban in Jakarta. As planned, those bemos will be rejuvenated.

"Prior to controlling, the meeting has been held with the bemo owners. And they've agreed to be revitalized," he expressed, Monday (7/24).

Hence, his side has given operational trial permit towards four-wheeled public transportation in certain regions. As planned, these vehicles will be replaced bemos that will be deleted. 

"Totally we have controlled 193 bemos," he expressed.

Jakarta Organda Chairman, Safruhan added operational permit is proposed for 17 four-wheeled vehicles to Transportation Dept. Yet, the vehicles do not operate based on the route.

"Trial also aims to get public aspiration. They are free to operate in Jakarta and the tariff has not been set," he closed.
