Regional Tax and Retribution Agency (BPRD) along with Jakarta DPRD Commission C, agreed to find a solution to increase the realization of streetlight tax (PPJ) this year.

Every year electricity use rises but is not equivalent and linear with tax revenue

Jakarta BPRD Head, Edi Sumantri explained, last year, Rp 775 billion was targeted to be achieved in the tax. Unfortunately it was only Rp 714.8 billion or around 92.24 percent of target.

Whereas, last year, the PPJ realization had touched Rp 729.8 billion or 102.80 percent of target by Rp 710 billion.

"We're examining the decreasing in realization of PPJ by cooperating with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)," he stated, during work meeting with DPRD Commission C, Tuesday (7/25).

Jakarta DPRD Commission C Chairman Santoso would invite the state-owned electricity firm PLN to equate the data and find a solution in order to optimize the realization of this year's PPJ.

"Every year electricity use rises but is not equivalent and linear with tax revenue. We will invite PLN to sit together to discuss this," he closed.
