Land Subsidence in North Jakarta will Be Researched

Jakarta Provincial Government along with central government and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed agreement on project of land subsidence technical research.
They will research land subsidence in Jakarta, especially in North Jakarta
One of the locations to be researched is North Jakarta area, following the land surface in the area that occurs every year.
Land Subsidence in Muara Angke Reaches 2.14 MetersCity Secretary, Saefullah disclosed, it is done by cooperating with Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing and Bappenas. JICA has been appointed to survey land subsidence in Jakarta.
"They will research land subsidence in Jakarta, especially in North Jakarta," he expressed, in the office of Public Works and Public Housing Ministry, Jalan Patimura, South Jakarta, Thursday (7/27).
Through such cooperation, land subsidence in North Jakarta will be researched deeply. The research results would be filed in the program of handling the land subsidence
"Supervision is about the use of ground water that should be limited. The research results give recommendations," he said.
He added, research funding is fully covered by JICA. It is predicted to take three months and will start in the near future.
