Draft Bylaw on Industry Must Pay Attention to Labor-intensive Industry

Santoso, Chairman of Jakarta DPRD Commission C disclosed labor-intensive industry is still required, because as a metropolitan city, Jakarta is not separated from urbanization problems.

"Jakarta as metropolitan city is prone to urbanization flow every year, thus labor-intensive industry is much needed, thus social security can be finished," he expressed, during joint meeting of Bapemperda about report on the results of the discussion of the Draft Bylaw on Industry, Monday (7/31).

He hoped draft bylaw that has finished could accommodate all issues, including the presence of labor-intensive industry in the capital within 25 years ahead.

"So, the draft bylaw on industry that has finished is not only solving issues five years ahead, but 25 years. There should be solution," he expressed.

Responding on this matter, Merry Hotman, Vice Chairperson of Jakarta DPRD's Bapemperda ensures the presence of industry actors including large, medium, small, creative including labor intensive already contained in draft bylaw.

"It's noted that 28,748,3 industry actors in the city will be set after draft bylaw is set into bylaw. It will open retribution that can be drawn by local governments through legal protection concerning the industry," he closed.
