240 Vehicles Controlled on First Day of Orderly Sidewalk

A number of joint personnel managed to control 240 two- and four-wheeled vehicles parked on the sidewalk in five cities during orderly sidewalk today, Tuesday (8/1) yesterday.

"On the first day, we have controlled 240 two- and four-wheeled vehicles due to illegal parking," expressed Sigit Wijatmoko, Vice Head of Jakarta Transportation Dept., Wednesday (8/2).

Wijatmoko expressed, 500 personnel of Transportation Dept., Satpol PP, army and police. Besides city level, the activity is also held at provincial level.

"Through this activity, we hope people can be more aware of the sidewalk function designated to the passerby," he hoped. 

He mentions, at provincial level, it is intensified at seven points such as Jalan Gajah Mada, Olimo, Sudirman-Thamrin, Budi Kemuliaan, Merdeka Selatan and Kebon Sirih. While in Central Jakarta, it is held on Jalan Saman Hudi, Suryo Pranoto, Cideng Timur, Jati Baru I and Wahid Hasyim. 

"In North Jakarta, we hold it in BMW Park area," he told.

Then in South Jakarta, it is conducted on Jalan Abdullah Syafii, Stasiun Tebet, MT Haryono, Tebet Raya, and around Kota Kasablanka Mall. In West Jakarta, it is centered in Hayam Wuruk, Tanjung Duren, Grogol, and Pesing Train Station.

"In East Jakarta, it is intensified in Raya Bogor, Raya Bekasi, Pasar Rebo, Mayjend Sutoyo, Cipayung, Jatinegara Train Station area and Pulo Gadung," he told.

From 240 vehicles netted, 52 units are towed, 49 units that made in a dossier (BAP) are ticketed, 94 units of two-wheeled vehicles and 45 four-wheeled vehicles are flattened.
