City Flats Targeted to Have Waste Bank

Jakarta Environment Dept. targets all flats in City to have waste bank. Recently, there is just a new waste bank at Pulogebang Flat, East Jakarta.

First, waste bank function is to reduce trash volume in flat. Second, it can educate flat residents to sort waste

Jakarta Environment Dept. Head, Isnawa Adji said, City's flats are having a potential to be built as waste banks.

"First, waste bank function is to reduce trash volume in flat. Second, it can educate flat residents to sort waste," he said at City Hall, Thursday (8/3).

Waste Bank Is Capable of Managing 300 Tons of Waste Every Day

He explained, waste bank in Pulogebang flat is recently generate millions of rupiahs. This thing is hoped could be transmitted to other flats.

"We are still educating other flats such as Pesakih, Kalideres, Penjaringan, and others to start build waste bank," he added.

He hopes, by this way, flat residents will be not complaining the waste for not being transported. Otherwise, starting to sort its own waste.

"We already prepared specialized garbage truck that can enter the flat," he closed.
