Jakarta DPRD has requested Jakarta Transportation Dept. to make an in-depth review before applying an extension of lane ban policy for two-wheeled vehicles or motorcycle until Senayan Roundabout, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman.

"There must be in-depth review along with the council," expressed Mohamad Taufik, Vice Chairperson of Jakarta DPRD, Monday (8/7).

"Do not let this policy will complicate," he exclaimed.
He furthered, in-depth review is also required to identify the feasibility of public transportation in the locations that will apply the policy.
"As the government, we must provide a good public transportation mode before applying this policy," he stated.
As reported earlier, Jakarta Transportation Dept. and Greater Jakarta Transportation Management Agency (BPTJ) will hold Focus Group Discussion (FGD) related to the extension of lane ban for two-wheeled vehicles.
Jakarta Transportation Dept. Head, Andri Yansyah disclosed that FGD would involve all stakeholders, such as Jakarta City Transportation Council, Police, academic, community and transportation observers. It was slated to be held on Tuesday (8/8) next week at BPTJ office, Jalan MT Haryono, South Jakarta.
"There are three agenda discussed. First is about lane bans extension for two-wheeled vehicles. Second is odd-even system extension until Rasuna Said and the last is to parse traffic jam at MT Haryono," he stated, Thursday (8/3).
