Council Requests Explanation About Increase in Social Aid Expenditures

Jakarta DPRD's Banggar, asking City Administration Budgetary Team (TAPD) to give a written explanation of the increase in social aid expenditures on the draft policy of 2017 APBD's General Budget Policies and Provisional Budget Ceiling and Priorities (KUPA-PPAS) amounting to Rp 734,496,978,000.

Jakarta DPRD Chairman, Prasetio Edi Marsudi disclosed, in 2017 APBD, the amount of social aid is Rp 2.499 trillion. While the proposal in KUPA PPAS, is reaching Rp 3.233 trillion.

"Its increase is more than Rp 734 billion. We want the executive to give a written explanation," he expressed, Monday (8/7).

Responding on this matter, City Secretary, Saefullah revealed all materials requested by DPRD already exist. Therefore, he felt that what the council requested could soon be realized.

"We just do printing," he stated.

Jakarta BPKD Acting Head, Michael Rolandi added, the increased social aid expenditures proposal in 2017 KUPA-PPAS worth Rp 734 billion is to finance the participants of Jakarta Card Smart (KJP). Therefore, it is estimated there is a significant increase in the number of participants in the second phase of KJP.

"Initially it's around 610,000. We have additional, so the total is 793,000," he closed.
