Jakarta Cultural Heritage Conservation Center has noted that Jakarta have 136 cultural heritage buildings. Those buildings already have legal protection in forms of Gubernatorial Regulation No. 475/1993 on Stipulation of Historical Buildings in Jakarta as a Heritage Object.

There are four criteria that must be met to set a building into a cultural heritage object

According to Rucky Nellyata, Executing Unit Head of Cultural Heritage Conservation Center, those 136 cultural heritage buildings, 67 out of them are in Central Jakarta, 35 buildings are in West Jakarta and 16 buildings are North Jakarta, 7 buildings are in South Jakarta, 7 buildings are in East Jakarta, and 4 buildings in Seribu Islands.

"There are four criteria that must be met to set a building into a cultural heritage object," he stated, Tuesday (8/8).

He details those criteria are more than 50 years, has a special meaning for history, science, religion and culture, as well as has a cultural value for the strengthening of the nation's personality.

"Either individual or foundation can register its building to be used as cultural heritage objects," he stated.

He explained people who want to register their buildings can come directly to the office of Cultural Heritage Conservation Center, Jalan Lada, RT 4/RW 6, Pinangsia Urban Village, Tamansari, West Jakarta.

"Just bring land certificate and IMB. Further, our team will do survey to the field and study it," he expressed.

He added, in October, his side will conduct a study of 200 buildings to determine its feasibility as a cultural heritage object.

"At this time we just have eight cultural heritage experts. We hope, it can be done the addition of human resources (HR), especially archaeologists," he closed.
