Three Draft Bylaws About Market Management Handed Over to Council

Jakarta Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat, formally handed over three draft bylaws containing market management to Jakarta DPRD yesterday.

The modern market establishment also has the potential to have a negative impact on the existence and sustainability of traditional markets and grocery stores

Such draft bylaws that would be discussed at council commission level are about marketing, Pasar Jaya regional general company, as well as management and development of Pasar Jaya business.

Draft Bylaw on Industry Completely Discussed

On that occasion, he conveyed, those were very important to be ratified, because of the high free competition of economic actors in the trading sector. It can be seen from competition between traditional markets and modern markets that continues to grow rapidly and give a big impact to the public.

"The modern market establishment also has the potential to have a negative impact on the existence and sustainability of traditional markets and grocery stores," he expressed, during plenary meeting held at City Council building, Wednesday (8/10).

He hoped that competition among business actors in modern and traditional markets could be healthier.

"Through small and medium trader guidance, traditional market can grow and develop together with modern market," he uttered.

Meanwhile, Jakarta DPRD Chairman, Prasetio Edi Marsudi positively welcomed those draft bylaws proposed by the executive. In the near future, they will be discussed at council commission level.

"Every commission will deliver their opinion on August 14, 2017," he closed.
