City Involves Banten to Ensure Rice Food Security

Jakarta Provincial Government is cooperating with Banten Provincial Government in the field of Infrastructure. One of them is cooperation related to food security of rice commodity.

At first, we never bought rice from Banten, always through Karawang, Central Java, East Java, Lampung

Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Dept. Head, Darjamuni disclosed his party never bought rice from Banten. Whereas, rice production in Banten is quite a lot or up to a surplus of 60 percent.

Governor Opens Fried Rice Cooking Competition

"At first, we never bought rice from Banten, always through Karawang, Central Java, East Java, Lampung. In fact, it is also exist in Banten," he expressed, Thursday (8/24). 

According to him, all this time, rice from Banten is sold to Karawang and then sent to Jakarta. Through the cooperation, it can break the chain of rice sales.

"We have been buying rice from Karawang area, now we can directly from Banten to Jakarta. If the link is disconnected, the price will be cheaper," he exclaimed. 

He explains, the cooperation will be followed by PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya, considering rice demand in the capital is quite high.
