3,000 People Participate in ASEAN Parade

3,000 participants are participating in the Association of Southeast Asia Nations (ASEAN) Parade held during Car Free Day.

Through this event, we will be a driver of ASEAN's progress

Based on Beritajakarta.id, the event theme is "A Community of Peace and Opportunity. Participants that are from ASEAN members take routes from Monas-Jl. MH Thamrin-HI Roundabout-Jl. Imam Bonjol.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudi expressed, ASEAN has been transformed into a society, a community, and a family.

"It's expected to be an exhibition of a big diverse family yet one in achieving common goals that is, prosperity, security, and stability of the region," he expressed, Sunday (8/27).

According to him, the event aims to commemorate the 50th ASEAN anniversary that felt by Car Free Day participants has brought Jakartans with ASEAN. It also strengthen Jakarta as the Capital of the Southeast Asian diplomatic cooperation," he stated.

He added it involves 600 volunteers from among students. In addition, it also featured 50 finalists of ASEAN Young Ambassadors wearing custom clothing.

"In future, ASEAN is in our hands all people of Indonesia. Through this event, we will be a driver of ASEAN's progress," he finished.
