Central Jakarta Administration is prioritizing sidewalk and road control in Tanah Abang during Sidewalk Awareness Month, this August. Because there are many undisciplined street vendors (PKL)s who often use sidewalk to trade.

"We focus on all locations. But, we are prioritizing Tanah Abang area," said Iqbal Akbarudin, Central Jakarta Secretary, Monday (8/28).

According to him, Sidewalk Awareness Month operation is directly instructed by Jakarta Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat. Moreover, recent sidewalks are frequently used for trading and illegal parking.

"This is in accordance with Jakarta Governor's instruction and desire . All sidewalks must be in order and clean from PKLs and illegal parking," he closed.
