10,080 Vehicles Netted During Sidewalk Awareness Month

Within 3 weeks of Sidewalk Awareness Month, there were 10,080 vehicles netted. Various sanctions were given, from flattening until ticketing.

Jakarta Transportation Dept. (Dishub) Deputy Head, Sigit Wijatmoko said, until now sidewalk violation is mostly done by two-wheeled vehicle. Although four-wheeled vehicle number is not small.

"Until August 23, there were 10,080 vehicles netted either by personnel or police," he informed, Thursday (8/24).

Sidewalk Awareness Month Able to Gain Discipline Effectively

He explained, from that number, 566 vehicles were towed, 938 vehicles ticketed by Dishub, and 1,022 vehicles were ticketed by police. The remaining 4,820 two-wheeled vehicles and 2,063 four-wheeled vehicles were flattened.

"Besides, Dishub also transported 671 vehicles," he added.

According to him, Sidewalk Awareness Month will last until August 31. Hopefully citizen can be more orderly in using sidewalk through this program.
