Jakarta Industry and Energy Dept. (DPE) has replaced 28,001 streetlight (PJU) lamps with Light Emitting Diode (LED) in five Jakarta regions from January to August 2017.

Until August 31, 28,001 LED lamps have been installed from total target 94,468 units

Jakarta DPEs's City Lighting Section Head, Syamsul Bakhri said, LED installation this year is targeted 94,468 units. Until now, his side is trying to reach that target by replacing lamps for almost every day.

"Until August 31, 28,001 LED lamps have been installed from total target 94,468 units," he expressed on Tuesday (9/5).

He mentioned, from total 28,0001 LED units, 12,572 of them were installed in North Jakarta, 9,127 units in East Jakarta, 6,306 units in West Jakarta, and 103 units in South Jakarta.

"Half of PJU lamps in Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, and North Jakarta have been replaced with LED in 2016," he said.

This year's budget allocation for LED installation on PJU reaches Rp 834 billion. It is targeted all 94,468 LED units can be installed until December.

"No significant problem until this day. Usually it is just related to weather factor, such as rain," he closed.
