Muara Baru Embankment Construction Has Reached 59 Percent

Muara Baru Embankment Package 1 Construction, Penjaringan, North Jakarta has reached 59 percent. It has 2.3 kilometers long and is targeted will be finished in 2018.

Recently, embankment construction has been realized around 1.4 kilometers or about 59 percent

Ciliwung-Cisadane Flood Control Office (BBWSCC)'s National Capital Integrated Coastal Development (NCICD) Specific Non-Vertical Working Unit Head, Sudarto said, Muara Baru Embankment has a high elevation around 4.8 meters above sea level. This embankment is located along the coastal as long as 2.3 kilometers with width around 1 meter.

"Recently, embankment construction has been realized around 1.4 kilometers or about 59 percent. We are targeting this project to finish in 2018," he said when monitoring Muara Baru Embankment, North Jakarta.

Acting Governor to Visit NCICD Phase A Construction

He mentioned that this project is in package 1. While for package 2 is located in Kali Baru area, Cilincing.

Embankment is constructed in order to prevent coastal flooding to occur, because of land subsidence. Besides, sea water can rise due to sea and estuary embankment strengthening and elevation and also Jakarta northern coastal areas arrangement.

"It is built as a clear boundary for land development in coastal areas and it can prevent economy loss due to coastal flood," he closed.
