3,056 Vehicles in Central Jakarta Controlled Throughout August

South Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept. has noted that 3,056 two and four-wheeled vehicles have been controlled during the first orderly sidewalk.

Christianto, Head of South Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept. disclosed controlling is compliance with Gubernatorial Instruction No. 99/2017 on Months of Orderly Sidewalk.

Of the 3,056 vehicles, 1,391 motorcycles are flattened, 581 cars are flattened, 638 bajajs are flattened, 113 four-wheeled vehicles are towed, 245 public transport vehicles are made in a case dossier (BAP) and 88 motorcycles are grounded.

Further, those vehicles towed must pay fine of Rp 500,000 per day in accordance with the rules.

"Totally we get Rp 56.5 million from 113 vehicle owners who have paid the fine via Bank DKI," he expressed, Friday (9/8).

He hoped the policy could give deterrent effect to the owner. Thus they will no longer pass or park on the sidewalk.

"This is because illegal parking becomes one of the triggers of traffic jam," he finished.
