Basuki Guarantees 80 Percent of City PNSs Dedicated

Acting Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama, can guarantee boldly that around 60 until 80 percent civil servants in the city have a high dedication to make New and Advance Jakarta. This man from Belitung Timur believes this thing after leading Jakarta Provincial Government in 20 months.

"Don’t affected by a number of PNSs who still think old Jakarta and have trouble with law enforcement. But it does not mean all city government officials are like these,” said Basuki in his speech at Jakarta 487 Anniversary in Monas Crossing, Central Jakarta. 

The high dedication of City officials can be seen in Jakarta Night Festival (JNF) 2014, Saturday (6/21) night. Head of City Cleanliness Department, Saptastri Ediningtyas Kusumadewi, and Deputy Head of Cleanliness Department, Isnawa Adji, led hundreds of janitors cleaning up Monas after JNF 2014.

Training for IRTI Cadgers, Private Involved

“Once again, we want to say thank you to janitors who were working from night till dawn cleaning up Monas area. It is such an amazing dedication,” added Basuki T Purnama, Acting Jakarta Governor.

Basuki admitted that the condition of Monas in almost all areas is filled with garbage. Eventually, Monas, which is built in Soekarno era, management is trusted to City Government.

"Of course we do not want Monas, which is the pride of Indonesia citizens to their countries, to be dirty and disorganize,” stated Basuki.

For that, Jakarta Provincial Government will build IRTI parking lot and arrange the cadgers in Monas area. They argued that cadgers in Monas are supposed to be not despised and forbidden. It depends on how the city government can protect and help them selling a good product at an affordable price.

"The condition is not like now. In Monas, the cadgers are selling mixed drinks with tap water, forcing some people to buy goods and others selling stalls for rent. Obviously, it cannot be defended. It is the City Government’s duty to administering social justice. We must not let a party reviling the other parties," Basuki uttered.

Basuki also asserted that City Government gives toleration to cadgers selling on road as long as the cadgers can be arranged and step back around 1.5 meters for pedestrian purpose.

However, the City Government also apologizes to the cadgers since the rules are not applied for cadgers in Monas. “We are sorry there will be no toleration of cadgers in Monas, except in IRTI and constructing basement. I think this message is very clear, we will maintain Monas in every way. But, we still bluff. But if the cadgers still insists, we have to give sanction. It does not mean that we are rude, but you do not respect the sacrifice of the warriors who defend Monas,” completed Basuki.

In Jakarta 487 Anniversary in Monas Crossing, was also filled with award ceremony for employees to excel in their duties in advancing Jakarta. The award was also given to city students who got the highest score in UN SMP and SMA.

After the ceremony, the event was continued by cone cutting as symbolic event of Jakarta Anniversary. The first cut is given to the family of deceased Mohammad Husni Thamrin who is a historical figure of Jakarta anniversary.
